After a strong push during the 2nd week of November (Brian, 3 matches; Ryan, 1), it is looking like a 2006 win for me if we can't get together to settle the three game difference this year! Saved by the bell perhaps...........?

I waited until the last possible moment, but I had to concede the year to Brian. It was a great year of play, with 56 games played between the two of us (not too bad considering we live 600 miles apart!). But, of those 56 games, Brian won 32. Do the math, and I lose no matter how you look at it! The only consolation was that I hit my 100th match win against Brian in September, but Brian closed the overall gap by six matches.
Bring on 2006! Games slated to start towards the end of January.......

A lot of work to pick up two games in three weeks. Brian still has a one game advantage half-way through the year. I need to make sure he doesn't stop playing now to secure the 2005 Championship (because that's the only way he's going to get it.......!).

Now it's getting ugly. Brian put it to me again, with a 1-0 match win. I've got plenty to do to ensure I don't lose this year (already down six games to two). June and July will provide ample opportunity for a comeback!

Tough matches once again in Greenville! Two marathon nights (two matches per night, each going the distance of three games), I came out ahead. BIGTIME!!! I picked up five points for the four matches and seven games to five. I helped fix some of the losses I suffered at the end of January (below)! The next matches are guaranteed to be tough!

Worked REAL hard to find a court to play on in Greenville, SC. Finally found one, and played one real match and one "gift" at 6:00 in the morning! All kidding aside, we were even on games and matches, but Smith gained 15 points towards the total! No more playing for fun, we are playing for bragging rights extending over EIGHT years!

Brian is absolutely one of the most competitive guys I have ever known! It's only fair to mention that I have only won a handful of matches since 1993! Brian has been on a long winning streak and has beat me handedly for several years now. We only get to play on holidays and visits, and this will be updated periodically.
